After months of work, authors James Conway and David Jamroz are thrilled that their work "Imges of America: Detroit's Historic Fort Wayne" will be released April 9th. This book tracks the Fort through it's construction and 138 year history of service to the United States. For those of us in the Michigan Living History community, it will be a valuable resource as we portray the life of the men who went through its gates. The authors have agreed to donate a large portion of their profits to benefit the Fort.
To make the good this book will do even larger, Jim and Dave are able to purchase books themselves at a reduced rate. Through them, we will have copies available at the Drill. The cover price of the book is $20.00. When you buy a copy at the Fort Wayne Battalion Drill, $9.00 per book will stay at the Fort to support restoration. Also, Jim and Dave will be on site to sign copies for anyone who wishes.
We are only assured a few copies at this early time. If you want to reserve your copy, send an email from the Contact Us page and we'll start a reservation list. We'll do our best to get as many copies as we can to the drill because when you buy the book at the bookstore, the Fort sees about $1. When you buy it here, we'll leverage $9 for the Fort. Checks or cash only please.
